Guide:Farming
Farming
In this guide, we'll cover basics of growing crops and trees, keeping livestock and beekeeping.
Growing crops and trees
As a general rule for growing any type of plant, you will need seeds like this . These can be found growing in the wild, with wildly varying q level, depending on your farming level. As a general rule of thumb, most of plant and trees need tilled 2x2 space. What does tilled mean? That means you make a shovel like , and dig on a grass tile twice, until it is dark brown.
Left side - untilled ground, right side - tilled ground, ready for planting.
As said earlier, most of the plants need 2x2 space, with the exception of Carrot and Onions. Now that the plants are in the ground, you have to wait a set amount of time until they mature. For full info regarding growing times etc., refer to Crops.
Remember to harvest your crops before they decay
The same principle applies to planting trees, with the exception that trees, of course, take much more time to mature. For detailed info regarding farming trees, refer to Trees
Keeping livestock
There is currently six kinds of animals you can keep: chicken, rabbits, pigs, cows, sheep and horses.
Horses are currently the only rideable animals in game, with speed upgrade 150% on horse q1
The basics for keeping livestock are fenced in area, and a trough, from which will they feed.(With the exception of cows, they need haystack) Be prepared before you catch any animals! To catch small types of animals, you will need a shaky cage , and to catch cattle and such, you will need lasso .
Catching small animals is very easy, and you will succeed every time, however the success rate of lassoing big animals depends on q of lasso and your survival level. If you succeed, the animals will follow you for some time, however in the opposite case, they will run away from you in fear.
After you successfully bring your animal into his new home, you have to determine what type of food your animal will eat. The table below will help you with that.
Animal | Food |
---|---|
Chicken | Seeds, Grass |
Rabbit | Grass, Carrots |
Sheep | Grass |
Pig | Anything |
Cow | Hay |
Horse | Apples, Carrots |
For breeding animals and increasing their q, the animals must be opposite sexes. Sex can be found by holding shift key. To breed chicken, one must construct chicken nest . The q of newborn chicken depends on components used.
Beekeeping
Beekeeping in rogalia is quite complex task, that involves couple things, mainly - beehive, honey extractor and linen insect net. First, you have to catch two bees, and combine them to craft a queenbee. After that, install a beehive, with roughly 16 flowers around it, and put the queen bee inside. After some time, you will find a honeycomb inside the hive. Put that into the honey extractor and spin it. BAM, you got yourself a honey.
The q of queenbee and flowers around beehive directly influence q of honey.
